After implementing a private cloud six years ago, KPIT steadily invested in building hybrid cloud solutions and migrated all key business applications on it. Over the last few years, the company has built smart infrastructure with a “software defined everything approach.”
The company not only managed to fine tune the application database query based on analytical reports but also successfully adopted the software-centric architecture that tightly integrates compute, storage, networking, and virtualization resources. This resulted in increased efficiency by automating multiple automated tasks, with 40 percent reduction in IT administration efforts. Additionally, self-service capabilities and workflows increased customer satisfaction and reduced overall provisioning and decommissioning time frame.
This project enabled the company to achieve an upper edge in terms of increasing the overall IT staff productivity by 30 percent and substantially reduced data center complexity. It also ensured consistent service delivery, while the self-service portal helps KPIT to increase data center efficiency by substituting manual tasks with automation.
