Bharti Infratel carried out a first-of-its-kind Smart City implementation in Bhopal. Smart elements and services were integrated with the command and control center, irrespective of protocols and in a heterogeneous network environment.
This integration enabled Bharti Infratel to monitor, manage and control all smart city elements from a single console. The deployment helped provide better services to citizens and sustainable infrastructure for the city. The project enabled proactive monitoring. Auto-ticketing for incidents and events generated from smart city elements are captured by the command and control center on a real-time basis.
Basis the event severity, a trouble ticket is automatically generated by the CCC, and field technicians are dispatched with detailed information for the required repairs. This ensures that services are restored in the least time frame.
Bharti Infratel was able to save 35 percent on electricity bills for Bhopal city. Continuous and proactive monitoring from the command center helped in improving the uptime and availability of smart services to achieve the required SLAs. Additionally, the deployment helped in reducing manpower, and in operation and maintenance costs.
