Breaking Virtualization Adoption Barriers
Frank Feldmann, Senior Product Manager - Red Hat APAC

Its all about choice, said Frank Fieldman, Senior Product Manager - Red Hat APAC. Since its birth in  1999, Linux has done a great job as a viable alternative operating system. The choice to use Linux grants bargaining power, scalability and flexibility, but a lot depends on the customer's choice. When US Customs chose Linux to run their systems, they saved to the tune of USD 60 billion. The question is, is everybody getting their share? Open source allows the user to build the design, build and test applications in its own community, assuring complete customization and scalability. However, there are still barriers to the adoption of this technology, despite the fact that most of the attributes it offers will stand by the CIOs in the competitive times that lie ahead. Securing A Green Network-Security Virtualization
Vishak Raman, Regional Director-SAARC & Saudi Arabia, Fortinet

"How many of us really think that security can be virtualized?" was the question, Vishak Raman, Regional Director - SAARC and Saudi Arabia, Fortinet, started with. He pointed out that a global inclination towards social networking sites is  a top concern in IT security today. Raman said that adding a number of firewalls would no longer add to the complexity.  He added that next generation cloud based offerings that use  single chassis makes things quite flexible in the security domain, managing allocating security resources. This new virtual security infrastructure gives organizations the ability to secure the network against blended attacks without having to buy new hardware.  Datacenters and telecoms would be the earliest adopters of security virtualization, due to cost saving, ease of management and deployment.
