IT industry: This is the year to reskill and reboot

India’s IT/ITeS sector is embracing automation, adapting emerging tech and retraining its workforce to survive the winds of change.

The year 2017 was tumultuous is many ways for the Indian tech industry. Layoffs, rising US protectionism, the challenge of reskilling employees, and the shift from providing services to enterprise solutions has put the industry in a fix. NASSCOM forecasts that the USD 150 billion dollar industry will double in size and clock over USD 200 billion by the year 2020. But before it can usher in another “IT boom”, it has a long way to go.
