Government appoints Arvind Gupta as CEO of MyGov

Arvind Gupta, former head of BJP's IT group, will head the initiative which will build a partnership between citizens and government with the help of technology for growth and development.

Tech entrepreneur Arvind Gupta has been appointed as the CEO of MyGovIndia on Tuesday, an innovative platform to build a partnership between citizens and government with the help of technology for growth and development.

A unique and first of its kind platform aims to bring the government closer to the common man by the use of online platforms, creating an interface for healthy exchange of ideas and views, involving the common citizens and experts, with the ultimate goal to contribute to the social and economic transformation of the country.

Arvind Gupta, an IIT-BHU alumnus and the founder of an artificial intelligence startup, also headed the Information and Technology Group for the BJP, where he led the digital and social media campaign during 2014 elections. He also advised BJP on e-governance, digital outreach, and other technology initiatives.

With over 22 years of experience in leadership, policy and entrepreneurial roles, both in Silicon Valley and in India, Gupta will play a critical role at MyGov platform, which has been more than successful in keeping the citizens engaged on important issues of policy and governance like clean Ganga, girl child education, skill development and healthy India, to name a few.

He is an Eisenhower fellow for innovation and an active member of industry forums NASSCOM, TiE and a founding member of ISPiRT (Indian Software Products Industry Roundtable).

He is also on the boards of IIT–BHU Alumni Association, and PAN-IIT Alumni Association, and mentors many startups and is a guest speaker at global B-schools and CXO events.
