HCL is Obsolete Now, Says CEO Vineet Nayar
Added 3rd Oct 2011"HCL as a company is obsolete now," said the IT services company's vice president and CEO, Vineet Nayar.
"What worked for HCL from 2001 to 2011 will not work from now to 2015," he said at a gathering of HCL employees, business partners, customers, media professionals and analysts in Singapore on 29th September (Thursday). He was sharing his views on the future of technology and trends that are shaping the world and how organisations can lead the change through disruptive management.
Nayar was in the country to collect the Human Capital Award. The renowned CEO of HCL Technologies is known for his philosophy of "Employees First, Customers Second". Fortune magazine recently chose him as one of the luminaries in their first ever global "Executive Dream Team" in the "Designated Hitter" category.
When probed further, Nayar said that by declaring HCL obsolete, he was actually challenging his employees to reinvent a new HCL that would be relevant for the future.
HCL Technologies, along with its subsidiaries, had consolidated revenues of US$3.5 billion as on 30 June 2011.
