My top priorities at Targus: KK Kaushik
Place a robust measurable system to touch Rs.500 Cr revenues by 2020-21
Infuse fresh blood and hiring of the right fit talent for the company
Expand into new geographies and add new products and solutions
Kaushik has joined Delhi headquartered Targus Technologies from February end this year. His main KRAs will be to focus on further growth of Targus geographically and increasing product portfolio by direct participation, as per Singh. He will be responsible to grow our team of product and presales specialists and strengthen alliance with various focused technology OEMs/principals, says Singh.Col. Balwinder Singh continues to be the MD and Raunaq would continue to hold the joint position of CEO and Director of Targus Technologies. Kaushik in a multitasking role will manage the conversations and drive business from both sides-CIO (End customer) side and technology OEMs side.
What were the key reasons to hire Kaushik for a senior position at Targus? Col.Balwinder Singh says, “As a firm believer of “What gets measured, gets done”, he is a process-and-result- oriented person, with impeccable career record of professionalism, integrity and great leadership.”
K.K.Kaushik, President & COO, Targus Technologies says, “I strongly believe the team at Targus is very vibrant and has strong capabilities and a hunger to explore new horizons. The management has vision, belief and desire to invest towards a leap to next orbit and inorganic growth.”
“His experience and long presence in the IT industry makes him a right choice for the current role in Targus and we believe that he will be an asset to our organization. He will assist in further expansion and growth to 500 Cr by 2020-21,” says Col.Balwinder.
I intend to grow both professionally and emotionally because this is a whole new set of responsibilities that I am about to handle as per Kaushik. A believer in ‘brilliance by versatility’, multitasking is a skill instilled in a person only with experience and keenness to learn at every sphere of life. I plan to give whatever I have learnt so far and this place has a positive vibe which opens doors to new opportunities, he says.
“I believe to work in silence and let your work make the noise for you. Rather than shouting out on what to do, do it and let your work amplify you,” says Kaushik. Speaking on his other main priorities for Targus, he says, “I intend to carve out a niche as a leader; place robust measurable system and processes to achieving an immediate goal of 500 Crore rupees by year 2020-21.” The hunt is on to infuse fresh blood and the hiring of right fit talent for the company, he says.
Expanding into new geographies and adding new products & solutions
Kaushik has over two decades of industry experience in building and managing various business units. He has been developing and driving large teams for country-wide multi-location operations. His core strength lies in developing and managing relationship with large business alliances and key vendor partners (OEM & Distys) nationally at all levels.
What technology trends will emerge in Indian IT industry in 2018 and beyond? Kaushik says, “Cloud is the talk of the town. Cloud Computing has started gaining a good momentum and is to emerge as the next big thing. Artificial Intelligence is a big trend as in next four to five years, it will snatch a lot of opportunities from the human operated market and industry.”

On prem DC & Collaboration
In spite of the difficult market situations, Targus had a good fiscal year as we acquired some new customers and plan to further go deep dive in those accounts this year, says Col. Balwinder Singh. “Targus’ focus on mobility business has paid handsome dividends in the last year and we will continue to focus on Cloud as well. Targus has grown in new business and new principles business by over 200% which is remarkable,” says Col. Balwinder.
Mobility clubbed with MDM and Managed Services is a big focus for Targus. “Field force automation, BYOD usage will grow across various verticals. 360-degree security starting from end compute, mobility to DC and cloud will be the major concern and also an area to work upon rapidly, in the current scheme of things. On-premise Data Center and collaboration will exist and have exponential growth in future,” says Kaushik.
