MakeMyTrip President Ashish Kashyap resigns

Ashish Kashyap's resignation has come in less than a year after the merger of MakeMyTrip and Ibibo Group in January this year.

MakeMyTrip, an online travel portal, has announced the resignation of its president, Ashish Kashyap, which will come into effect on September 30th. The Nasdaq-listed firm revealed Kashyap's exit from the company in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. MakeMyTrip has not given out the reasons for Kashyap's resignation.
"Ashish has made an immense contribution in bringing the MakeMyTrip-Ibibo deal with fruition and setting a strong foundation for the future success of the combined group. At this juncture, I respect his passion for creating and nurturing new and innovative ideas and we wish him the best for the future," said Deep Kalra, group chairman and group CEO, MakeMyTrip in a media statement.
Kashyap had come on board after MakeMyTrip acquired Ibibo in January this year, as president and co-founder.
After its merger with the Ibibo Group, MakeMyTrip’s revenue rose 135 percent to USD 141.2 million in the quarter ending June from USD 58.8 million a year earlier. The online travel firm offers its customers access to over 5,00,000 hotels and properties in India and abroad, along with access to all major airlines operating to and from India.
