NASSCOM India Leadership Forum 2018: Sessions you can’t miss on the final day

Here is a list of the sessions that you should not miss on the final day of the NASSCOM India Leadership Forum 2018, on February 21st.

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) India Leadership Forum has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs. It was mainly owing to the high profile launch of the platform for skill development in eight varied technologies by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The first skill development would be in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) followed by skill development in technologies such as virtual reality, robotic process automation, Internet of Things, big data analytics, 3D printing, cloud computing, social and mobile. 

The second day of the event saw the humanoid robot Sofia, steal the limelight. NASSCOM stated that while 2017-18 began on a muted note, it was driven by a better growth in the second half of the year and is expected to clock revenues of USD 167 billion, representing a growth of 7.8 percent for export revenues and 10 percent in domestic revenues. E-commerce sector is expected to grow by 17 percent in GMV terms. India’s digital revenues grew at 30 percent in FY 2018, demonstrating the base for a solid foundation in digital capabilities built by the sector.

The journey and discovery of digital economy and blockchain 
Time: 9.15 am 
Speaker: Don Tapscott, CEO, The Tapscott Group
About the session: Don Tapscott, CEO, The Tapscott Group, which is one of the leading authorities on the impact of technology on business and society will be delivering the keynote address on ‘A Journey to discover: Evolution of the Digital Economy and Blockchain’. Tapscott will be talking about the characteristics of a digitally connected world. He will also speak about the power of networks that to solve global challenges such as the way states are governed and how the next generation will live and work in the future.  His focus will be on blockchain will transform the future of money, business and the world.

Imperatives for Leaders today: From Operating IT to Orchestrating IT
Time: 11.45 am
Speakers: Neeraj Aggarwal, Senior Partner and MD, The Boston Consulting Group (India) Private Limited; Howard Watson, CTIO, BT Group. 

About the session: Neeraj Aggarwal, managing director, BCG India has over 25 years of experience with clients in technology, media, consumer and financial services sector scaling across India, Europe, Asia and North America. At BCG Group, Aggarwal focuses on the disruptive impact of digital across businesses. He will be accompanied by Howard Watson, who is the chief technology and information officer of BT Group and is responsible for all the core IT in the company across the globe. The session will be focused on a change of the roles of CIOs from just operating IT to now innovating new technologies and adapting newer technologies in various companies.  

Leading in age of thinking machines
Time: 12.15 pm 
Speakers: Nitin Seth, CEO, Incedo Inc; D.Shivakumar, Group Executive President, Aditya Birla Management; Debjani Ghosh, President-Designate, NASSCOM; Adar Poonawalla, CEO, Serum Institution of India. 
About the session: With new technologies, a new ecosystem emerges. This ecosystem functions as an interdependent network of industry, technology, and regulations. This ecosystem is being formed quickly and the rate of change is significant. The speakers will discuss how today's leaders must possess the trait of being able to experiment, to respond to changes quickly, and to adopt technology at an organization level.

De-globalization or Digital Globalization: What lies ahead

Speakers: Hans-Paul Bürkner, Chairman, The Boston Consulting Group; R Chandrashekhar, President, NASSCOM
About the session:  What better than knowing from the leaders itself, what lies ahead in terms of technology and enterprise. R Chandrashekhar, president of NASSCOM has been in the process of predicting what will hit and will have to be missed in the IT world for a while now. Hans-Paul Burkner, chairman of the BCG group will join him to give you an insight on what technologies to bet your money on this year. 

Making mental wellness a boardroom priority
Time:  3.25 pm 
Speaker: Rishad Premji, Chief Strategy Officer and Member of the Board, Wipro; Deepika Padukone, Actor and Founder, The Live Love Laugh Foundation
About the session: New technology is made by humans, used by humans to benefit the humans. So a leadership forum cannot miss out on the human aspect. Interestingly, bringing to the forefront this year is a topic often treated a closet secret. Rishad Premji, chief strategy officer and member of the board at Wipro along with Deepika Padukone, actor and founder of The Live Love Laugh Foundation will discuss on how there is a need to make mental wellness of employees a priority in the boardroom for better productivity as well as promoting a healthy work environment.
