As disruptions are taking place, IT leaders are not ready to fall behind; rather they look ahead to lead the next evolution in the IT-ITeS sector. What will the IT-ITES industry look like in 2020? Here is a glimpse of what India's technology leaders who have walked ahead of the times think, #ReimagineeringIndia.
There is a massive mood to transform the workplace at the moment. In a couple of years, the workplace will be replaced by a mix of humans and humanoids. However, this won’t take away jobs; instead it will create more jobs. It will depend on how the individuals and the organisations upskill themselves.
A good percentage of home or workplace have started adopting automated assistants. There will be a new age of meeting rooms, where you won’t need someone to scribe, somebody to assign action item, irrespective of the geography or region you are in. The system will have the ability that once you enter a meeting room, the device will recognize you via facial recognition and will document everything discussed in the meeting and will take action accordingly.
Cognitive technologies like robotics, machine learning, natural language processing, speech recognition, and computer vision will multiply productivity and customer delight, and thwart threats and breaches through user behaviour analytics.
Our routine life will see a major change. Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will drive the day-to-day life—machines preparing you for the day's schedules, machines tailoring your breakfast according to health stats and arranging driverless cars to take you to office. While on the car one can get into meetings and presentations with Light Field displaying 4D images on to your retina; and your image projected across globe with your AR/VR life-size screens. Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) will play a huge role by giving real-life experiences across a gamut of operations.
Bots, chatbots and robots are going to take over the key part of ITeS sector. Most of the workforce will be virtual. Humans will handle exceptional situations and be responsible for quality checks.
