Boeing Reduces Annual Labor Costs by $879K Using Application Performance Management

Executive Summary

With close to 12,000 jetliners in service currently, Boeing's aircraft constitute 75% of the world's commercial fleet. The company needs to provide long-term support till the end of life for each plane. To ease the service process, the manufacturer was looking to empower application teams to take ownership of system availability and performance. The solution came in form of building application availability Center of Excellence based on an Application Performance Management (APM) solutions. This approach enabled as few as six  employees to support 160 applications. Other operational benefits include labor cost savings of $878,641 annually and reducing mean time to resolution from 10.02 to 1.03 hours.
