HP Launches New Proliant Blades, Servers and Collaboration Solutions for SMBs

In a press release HP claimed these offerings enable SMBs to streamline communications and operations while deploying more efficient routes to market in order to expand business opportunities.
HP ProLiant G7 blades and servers
Three new rack-mount HP ProLiant scale-up servers deliver a number of innovations in automation that allow clients to speed application delivery, more effectively utilize IT resources and achieve improved return on investment. The servers offer several industry firsts with memory footprints of up to 2 terabytes (TB) and "self-healing" capabilities that maximize application uptime with a 200 percent boost in availability. Optimized for the most data-intensive workloads, the servers reduce data center footprint, complexity and costs with a consolidation ratio up to 91-to-1, HP claimed.
Seven new HP ProLiant G7 server blades address the most demanding virtualization environments by offering the industry's first blade with 1 TB of memory and integrated 10Gb Virtual Connect FlexFabric technology for I/O scalability. With an architecture that balances processor performance, expanded memory and I/O capacity, these systems can support up to four times more virtual machines than competitive blades, while requiring 66 percent less hardware, HP further explained in the press release.

The New HP solutions that converge servers, storage, networking and management includes the HP BladeSystem Matrix platform, which through new integration with HP Server Automation tools, simplifies IT environments with one-touch, self-service provisioning of applications. HP's collaboration solutions for SMBs include:
- HP Insight Remote Support software reduces risk by discovering potential issues during software installation or operation through a new Device Health Capability.
- HP Business Support Center Forums improve communication and collaboration among business professionals through an enhanced one-stop online support experience.
- HP Proactive Select Services reduce the risk of infrastructure downtime with expert resources available on demand at variable prices. Through HP or its channel partners, clients can access services across information technology infrastructure library (ITIL), blades, storage and virtualization.
