Nortel Wins Government Deals In APAC

The firm noted that it has seen recent success with public sector investments in Australia and New Zealand, greater China, India, South East Asia, and Japan.

For instance, postal, banking and insurance services provider Taiwan Post deploys Nortel Metro Ethernet to enable real-time information backup, access, and recovery and thus ensuring business continuity, said Nortel.

In China, Nortel Metro Ethernet offerings helps Shanghai Metro Line 1 Trains provide reliable services.

"Government agencies and departments face their very own set of business, policy and network technology challenges," said François Lançon, leader, enterprise, Nortel Asia/EMEA.
