Digital Innovation Strategy
The project involving IFFCO’s e-procurement system and video conferencing facility resulted in a reduction of carbon foot print while saving hugely on the monetary front. IFFCO wanted to build an online community and for this, it developed an Indian cooperative digital platform. It is an e-commerce platform to serve multiple needs of farmers. It offers services such as rural e-commerce, classifieds, discussion forum, self-learning, multilingual chat, and entertainment.
The platform is available in more than 13 Indian languages. Farmers can use the platform to sell and buy agri-products from anywhere in the country. The platform also has online courses available, which will help the youth in getting job opportunities. This is the first e-commerce portal by the organization. It has helped the company connect with its customers as well as create greater visibility for the organization. The multi-language portal also attracts customers and users from various states across India.
