Digital Strategy

Being an early adopter of new technology, Mahindra & Mahindra undertook Project eCube to replace the traditional database to future-ready in-memory database of SAP HANA on its core ERP system – a single instance for 84+ companies across globe.

Along with core ERP system, a total of 12 peripheral systems were upgraded and migrated from the Oracle database. Migration of core ERP system has not only enabled rapid execution, but also made the system future-ready for digital journey. The company was able to migrate these systems without disrupting business continuity.

Among the factors that made this project unique, Mahindra & Mahindra was able to incorporate a tailored datacenter infrastructure for large landscapes and to bring about optimized data migration that helped keep the downtime to under 16 hours.

In addition to improving productivity, the organization is now able to get real-time analytics, which in turn has enabled faster decision making. The business also observed faster responses and enabled reporting through mobile devices.
Mahindra & Mahindra is now in the process of harnessing real-time analytics with chatbots, which will in turn generate reports as per the authorization matrix.
