He has also played a key role in promoting adaption of open source technologies and has successfully deployed one of the largest data warehouses on open source platforms. He provided technical leadership and architectural vision in implementation of mission critical applications across the organization including IT infrastructure, web portals, and web-based and non-web based customized solutions. The use of big data has been the focal point in BSE’s technology stack to harness its benefits within the gambit of surveillance and compliance. Being a self-regulatory organization, one of the major challenge faced by the exchange was to monitor the impact on price movement of a BSE-listed company.
In line with these proactive measures and in order to further deepen its regulatory oversight to newer channels of communication in capital markets, BSE has adopted a data analytics based systemic solution which relies on artificial intelligence and machine learning to track digital media news related to listed companies.
Driven by highly competitive market conditions and the need to conduct fraud analysis, BSE has formulated an extensive approach to develop an automated social media monitoring solution.
The solution is tuned to run on a specified frequency and provides an interface to BSE’s dashboard and eliminates the manual process of keeping a watch on social media. The deployment has enabled BSE to provide advanced statistics and machine learning based content identification model.
Additionally, BSE is now able to monitor 50 news sites, Twitter and Facebook data, interface with BSE’s dashboard, raise alerts on content, and take necessary action to verify the rumors by interacting with the respective company.
