Srinath Mallya is an IT services leader with close to three decades of diverse experience ranging from technology roles to business roles with full P&L and operational responsibility. In his previous roles, he started and led Syntel’s testing practice and later led Syntel’s logistics and travel business unit. Prior to Syntel, Mallya worked across various industries – instrumentation, avionics, entertainment, and electronics. His strengths include strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills, strategic thinking, team building and successfully running long-term initiatives.
Syntel envisioned a platform transformation strategy to modernize its existing platforms and provide benefits to the entire ecosystem – from employees, to corporate management and customers.
As part of this strategy, Syntel’s IS team worked closely with HR teams to develop a Syntel X.0 platform to support its largest employee transformation initiative, impacting every employee. The project is a one-stop-shop for the employee to understand and leverage the company’s competency framework.
It enables the employee to update his/her competencies, sign up for online courses, assessments and schedule classroom sessions in real time. Employees can baseline, track and improve their learning to earn incentives and promotions. The platform also enables a continuous dialogue of the employee with managers, peers and the HR team. It also collates the employee’s awards, rewards and achievements and facilitates continuous feedback to build a quarterly and year-end summary and plan used to guide career progression and succession planning. The employees are truly able to take control of their career.
Syntel X.0 platform is a hybrid, responsive application that can be accessed on desktops, laptops and handhelds. It enhances user experience through a responsive user interface and provided features to support each phase of learning and career progression.
