A tech veteran, Ved Prakash Nirbhaya has over 30 years of experience in the IT services domain. He has been with Tech Mahindra for over two decades and has played a key role in the company’s meteoric transformation over the past years.
As CIO of Tech Mahindra for eight years now, he has led large scale Integration, IT and digital transformation programs. He has built strong cross functional teams within TechM and is a natural collaborator and a passionate advocator of peer connect and delight.
In an organization the size of Tech Mahindra, it was important that the diverse business functions be seamless, smart and able to talk to each other inside the organization.
UVO, the in-house developed chatbot acts as a personal assistant to every associate of Tech Mahindra. UVO ensures activities like applying leave, travel request, various approvals and ticket resolution are taken care of without any hassle. It is intelligent enough to access the associate’s calendar and schedule, and can communicate with others via emails. The company deployed hybrid design thinking and the power of cognitive technology to build the chatbot.
As a result, it has not only been a huge help to the associates but also reduced the pressure on business functions, as they no longer need to respond to employee queries – either directly or through tickets. There is a 40 percent reduction in time spent by business functions in dealing with employee queries.
The organization is looking forward to roll out complex tasks and is planning to execute a strong pipeline of new requirements under the purview of UVO.
