Stuart Knight: Who is in Your Head

While taking decisions that can make or break the industry, IT leaders undergo a lot of stress. At CIO 100 2016, Stuart Knight spoke about how to control stress by controlling your mind.

After two days of continuous conversations with IT leaders from all over the country, Stuart Knight addressed CIO 100 2016’s last session on how to control your mind.

In his typically interactive storytelling manner, Knight guided leaders through the various stages of life and how he coped by talking to himself about his own issues. “True leaders have conversations inside their heads,” said Knight.

The power of the mind is what made humankind capable enough to go to the moon, send signals across the planet and put airplanes in the sky. However, the lack of power of the mind can also make you stumble, make poor decisions and miss opportunities. Knight said that the answer to all problems is knowing who controls your mind.

“You can do anything you want, but you can do it only if you are your own cheerleader because everyone around you is too busy to do it for you,” he said.

Knight spoke about how one can do amazing things only if one believes that they can. It is all about knowing what you want and believing that you will get it.

Ending the session on a motivating note, he said that everyone needs to have powerful conversations with themselves and that is the ultimate key to success.
