Sunil Gupta has left NTT Com- Netmagic (heritage Netmagic Solutions).
Gupta was president, COO and executive director on the board of Netmagic Solutions India (part of USD 105 billion NTT group) since year of 2010.
March 2019 was the last month for Gupta at NTT com – Netmagic, one of India’s leading cloud and managed infrastructure services company.
“According to our corporate policy, the company does not comment on employee’s exit,” said an official statement from NTT Com-Netmagic exclusively to IDG, when asked about the confirmation on Gupta’s exit from the company.

Gupta is seeking the next opportunity in his illustrious career, which spans over twenty five years in India’s ICT industry.
Gupta, often known as the datacenter man of India, has been involved with building business for 15 datacenters during his 19 year career in the space – nine year plus each at NTT Com-Netmagic and earlier at Reliance Communications.
At Netmagic, Gupta was responsible for company’s overall P&L. Before joining Netmagic, he was SVP and business head - Datacenter at Reliance Communications from 2000 to 2009.
While a firm communication is expected on where Gupta is joining, IDG India has inside reports of him joining hands with a large infrastructure company that is on the brink of launching their own venture (in fast growing datacenter business) to create large datacenter parks in India over the next decade.
Sharad Sanghi is the managing director and CEO of NTT Com-Netmagic which has 9 large datacenters in India offering managed hosting, cloud computing, DR and remote infrastructure management services to 1500+ domestic and global customers. Sanghi incepted Netmagic solutions in the nineties in India.
Gupta was instrumental in driving Netmagic business for over nine years, including the period when the company was acquired by Japan headquartered NTT Communications in the year of 2016. He was accountable to manage the business end-to-end, including business development, sales, marketing, service delivery, billing/revenue assurance and new projects including launch of new products and expansion of datacenters.

With an unmatched experience in datacenter, cloud and managed IT services industry, Gupta has built and operated most number of 3rd party datacenters in India. He set up 15 datacenters spread over 20 lakh sq. ft., and running cloud, hosting and managed services businesses including startups or scale up ops for an existing organization in high growth DC space.
At Reliance Communications, Gupta was managing datacenter business end-to-end that includes product development, business development, service delivery and assurance, revenue assurance, back office infra ops and infra growth including development of new datacenters.
Gupta started his career in 1992 as co-founder of Angel Solutions, a company which was in business of PCs, networking products, AMC’s and system integration services for SMBs. He later joined Iris Software and then GTL before his long stint at Reliance Communications.
An executive MBA (Strategy & Finance) degree holder from Columbia University, Gupta holds B. Tech (Electronics & Communications) degree from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra.
Given Gupta’s stature as India’s datacenter man or the industry expert that builds DC business, his comprehensive industry experience will be a great asset for his new employer in future.
